Austrian cuisine is very close to my heart. Because I grew up with it.
My granny was a fantastic cook.
Never in my life I ate something she cooked, I didn't like!
Even her rissoles. The story to this is,...
My mom's rissoles were not my favorite food (yea, sorry mom, haha). And at one point I even was over it.
So, that one visit at my grannies in Austria,... she made rissoles that one day for lunch. Oh boy...
Mum got into my room to get me to the kitchen for lunch. But I refused.
I really didn't want to eat rissoles. But, a "no" was not accepted.
I went to the kitchen with a loooooooooog face, haha.
A really moody teenager entered the kitchen, sat down at the table and hoped for the best.
I think I was about 16.
Well, granny plated up and I really didn't want to eat it. But after my first mouth full,.. WOW, I loved it!
SO different to mom's rissoles. And on that day, I actually had even a second serve.
Yes, she was that good in the kitchen, she even could make a teenager love rissoles again!
Mum learned a lot from her. All the dishes I grew up with came out of my grannies kitchen!
And with that,... it comes out of my kitchen now :-)
I hope you like it...
