I SO often saw the question from people in detox groups,
"what can I do with the leftover celery pulp from my juicer"?
I always replied, "make a spice of it".
It is great to add to soups, stews and sauces.
"But how do I do that?"
So I explained how to do it.
I think, because I reply to the the same question again and again,
it is much easier to put that on my webpage.
Let me show you!
1.
It is very simple.
You just take a baking tray or something like that.
Put some paper towel on it and spread the pulp even on it.
I choose paper towel, because it helps to remove the moisture.
I always dry it in the sun. This way I feel it even gets more healing power.
The sun is powerful. So what better way to use this great energy for our foods and crystals.
And that is almost already it!
You have to check from time to time and mix it here and there again.
Just to bring up the moister parts again.
Because it drys the quickest on the top. So I always mix it from time to time again.
When the sun moves,... just place at a different spot.
2.
When done, it should look like this. Nice and dry.
The moisture really needs to be gone completely.
So if you feel like it still feels a bit moist, either wait for the next days sun,... or put into the low heat oven.
I never did it this way. Just because I really want to have the sun energy for this.
But the oven would work as well.
You just have to adjust the heat the way that it does not burn, but dries the celery pulp.
So low heat is needed here.
3.
When your celery pulp is done, just place into your processor.
Just process until you reach the preferred stage. I do about 30 seconds.
You can add some pink or sea salt if you like.
I also added dried parsley recently. I also have a lot of parsley at the time in my garden.
I dry it the same way I dry the celery.
It is just perfect.
You can add whatever herb you like. Or make a mix of different herbs and spices.
A mix of pink salt and black pepper would be a nice topping for a tomato sandwich.
Or mix with some dulse or kelp.
Be creative!
4.
And this is the end result.
A fine powder, perfect for your cooking.
And you don't have to throw away your celery pulp!
I love to do this. The spice lasts in an airtight container for really a while.
I love to add this spice to pasta sauces, like Bolognese, or use it in stews.
Everything what calls for celery.
I hope I could show you and easy way to use up your leftover pulp.
I also think this is a lovely gift idea.
When you are someone who drinks celery juice every day, you have a lot of pulp.
I think everyone would love to get a sun-dried homemade celery spice,
in a nice jar,... for Christmas :-)
Or for a birthday,...
Easter,....
Diwali,....
Thanksgiving,...
Buddhas delight,....
Sabbath,...
Ramadan,...
.... or just because you love someone :-)
